Time vs Mind

Understanding time has its difficulties,
Because in our world, it goes only one way,
While the mind doesn’t care, and off it flees,
At a flick of a thought, it can see another day,
A day you lived already or one you’re yet to;
All the more prone when you’re going blue.

Time can move fast or slow,
Whether you’re on an upward tide or the lowest flow,
It’s a cold and rational companion that doesn’t care,
It’ll brutally slow down as you face your worst fear.

Though mighty with the celestial forces behind it,
Its grip on the mind is weak for the freak.
A decade can pass in a month’s time,
While a month can pass inside of a week,
Whether you’re going downhill or on an uphill climb.
That is the mystery I find,
No clue how, only each time — I’m blind.
Be it blindness from joys or sorrows,
Its barriers and limitations it readily shows.

Yet, the happiest I am is when I’m present,
All that I see is the light of the moment,
With worries and fears as good as absent.

Though what I feel comes from my decade behind,
Inside it, I was present, not only blind.
So much so that it was all there needed to be,
Without any urges to elsewhere flee,
Even if where I now flee is back to my decade,
Perhaps, time isn’t the enemy I make it to be,
The cold celestial culprit from whom to be afraid,
Because I’ll know again I’m happy,
When the truth of time, I will see,
When one with time, I will be.
