A Fish in a Sea

At times I too have known the life I want,
With lucid pictures and movies in mind,
But I forget that I’m just a fish in a sea,
With waves moving faster than me.

The trust I hold in plans I make,
Is there still, for the true depths at stake,
Though I know not what the future holds,
… I’ve never known it, anyway.

Is it right — what I’ll have done?
Won’t know, 'til in the ocean I’ll have swum.
Though later may seem too late,
I fear not, for the waves of true joys at stake.

Only ever-flowing in the truths of the moment,
I look back, and thank the tides for each fight,
So long as what I now see is bright,
Nothing in the past that.. again, I wouldn’t.

Thus with faith I spread my fins,
While the world still madly spins.
